AgriBio is Australia’s first integrated agricultural systems biology research centre and one of Australia’s premier state-of-the-art agribioscience facilities, with a key emphasis on supporting and protecting Victoria's agricultural sector by focusing on advanced research to improve productivity, fight disease and reduce environmental impact. AgriBio is a major contributor to the quality of scientific research being conducted in Victoria through cutting-edge science programs, collaboration, world-class research capability and attraction of top international scientists and collaborators.

AgriBio forms the ‘hub’ of Agriculture Victoria’s research and innovation ecosystem, complementing our  SmartFarms with its leading-edge capabilities in systems biology and big data capabilities.

AgriBio is a joint initiative of the Victorian Government, through Agriculture Victoria, and La Trobe University, accommodating up to 400 staff and students. AgriBio regularly hosts education workshops to help attract more school students into science and agriculture.
